Batemans Bay's marina occupies a sheltered dredged harbour just inside the mouth of the Clyde River, a few hundred metres from the town centre at 27 Beach Road. For years it traded as the town's independent Gold Anchor marina; in December 2023 it was acquired by the d'Albora group, which now lists it among its east-coast network and offers members reciprocal berthing at sister marinas including Port Macquarie. The setup is well suited to the South Coast cruising trade: 128 wet berths on floating docks take vessels to 33 metres, six swing moorings handle overflow, and the whole harbour sits within easy walking distance of the town's supermarkets, pubs and cafes. The clientele splits between local trailer and keelboat owners, game fishing crews chasing the marlin run offshore, and cruising yachts working the coast between Sydney and Eden who stop for fuel, a berth and a resupply. An on-site cafe and bar give the marina a social anchor, and the boatyard keeps the working side honest. The Clyde River winding inland under the town's new fixed-span bridge frames the place: upstream is quiet bushland river, downstream is the Tollgate Islands and the open Tasman. Batemans Bay's reputation rests on Clyde River oysters and beaches, but for boat owners the marina's real value is that it is the only full-service berthing facility of its scale for a long stretch of the South Coast, making it a natural home port and a near-obligatory stop on any coastal passage. The marina also serves as the practical headquarters for the town's charter and hire operators, and its berth list includes a healthy proportion of long-term local fishing boats whose owners treat the cafe as a second office.

Berthing covers 128 floating wet berths in sizes from under 10 metres to beyond 20 metres, with a maximum vessel length of 33 metres, catamaran berths, both side-to and stern-to configurations, and depths of around 2 to 3 metres at mean low water. Permanent and casual berthing are offered, visiting and overseas vessels are catered for, and berth holders get the run of the d'Albora reciprocal network. Power and water are supplied at berths, and security runs 24/7 with controlled access. The full-service boatyard provides haul-out and hardstand capability through on-site marine tenants, with repairs, maintenance and detailing; a boatbuilder is among the trades listed on site. Fuel is available 24/7 with diesel and petrol, and the pump-out is a ship-to-shore unit offered free to users - a notable inclusion that removes a common cruising cost. Amenities include showers, toilets, laundry, wifi and recycling facilities, plus the on-site cafe and bar which serve marina guests and the public. Local sailing knowledge
The Clyde River bar is the single piece of local knowledge that matters here. It is shallow - less than two metres at high water in places - and while leads mark the best approach and the bar has been dredged, any easterly swell makes the whole bar break, and the lead line may not match older charts. Boats drawing more than about two metres, or skippers without bar experience, should time the tide and seek advice before crossing; Marine Rescue Batemans Bay is based on the river bank near the bar and monitors VHF. Inside, the channel is well marked past the seawall sandbank. The town's landmark lift bridge was replaced by a fixed span with 12 metres clearance opened in April 2021, so most cruising sailboats now pass without openings; upstream the river is navigable for some 18 nautical miles, with a 3.6-metre fixed bridge at Nelligen eight miles up and high-voltage lines beyond that to check against your air draft. Anchorages in the bay include Chain Bay, excellent in northerlies with a courtesy mooring, and behind Snapper Island in southerlies, also with a courtesy mooring; anchoring over seagrass in the Batemans Marine Park sanctuary zones is prohibited. Provisioning is exceptional for a coastal stop: Woolworths, Coles and Aldi are a two-minute walk from the public jetty, the waterfront is lined with restaurants, and Clyde River oysters are the local staple. Offshore, the marlin grounds and the Tollgate Islands are the draw, and Broulee and its island nature reserve make an easy day run south.
