Refuge Cove Marina sits in the enclosed North Haven Basin, behind the breakwaters of Adelaide's principal recreational boat harbour, and it is the biggest of the basin's independent marinas: 195 strata-titled wet berths that changed the local market when North Haven was developed in the late 1990s. The strata model defines the place. Every berth is individually owned on title, bought and sold through real estate agents like any property - recent listings priced 8.5-metre shared berths around $18,000 and 11.25-metre berths toward $27,000 - while day-to-day management is contracted to Siebel and Siebel, a North Haven firm that handles levies, maintenance and berth enquiries from an office in the precinct. Annual strata fees run at roughly $2,500, varying slightly with berth size. The marina's personality is practical and neighbourly rather than clubby. Berths from 8.5 to 11.5 metres, plus four 18-metre T-head berths, hold a fleet dominated by trailerable-plus powerboats and mid-size cruising yachts, the everyday backbone of Adelaide boating. What distinguishes Refuge Cove from a bare pen park is its setting inside the Heritage Point precinct: four restaurants, a tavern, a hairdresser and a takeaway cluster around the basin, and a fuel dock, chandlery and working boatyard sit adjacent, so an owner can fuel, provision, haul and dine without moving the car. The Gulf St Vincent entrance channel is minutes away, making this one of the shortest berth-to-open-water transits on the metropolitan coast. Marina facilities
Each of the 195 berths is fully serviced with shore power and fresh water, and berth sizes run from 8.5 to 11.5 metres with four 18-metre T-head berths for larger vessels. Onshore, the strata provides secure parking and a modern toilet and shower block with laundry, maintained and cleaned on a regular schedule under the strata levy. Security covers gated access to the docks and the car park. The service depth comes from the surrounding precinct rather than the marina itself, and it is genuinely useful. A fuel dock operates adjacent to the marina, so refuelling is a fifty-metre manoeuvre rather than a voyage. A well-stocked chandlery trades in the basin, covering cordage, paint, anodes and electronics consumables. Snapper, whiting and squid grounds lie within a few miles of the entrance, which keeps the powerboat fleet busy year-round.
