Keelboat sailing on the Capricorn Coast orbits around one organisation: Capricornia Cruising Yacht Club, based at Rosslyn Bay just south of Yeppoon. Australian Sailing, profiling the club in its Club in Focus series, went so far as to call it the centrepiece of its local sailing community — the governing body's words, not the club's — and pointed to close ties with Keppel Bay Sailing Club across the bay, which covers the dinghy side of the local scene.
