On its own website Humpybong Yacht Club bills itself as the leading off-the-beach sailing club serving north Brisbane and the southern Sunshine Coast — and in 2023 Australian Sailing handed that claim external weight, naming Humpybong the first-ever national Club of the Year winner in Category B, the small-club division, at the 2023 awards after it had first taken out the Queensland title. The clubhouse stands next to Woody Point's public boat ramp, a short stroll west of the jetty on the corner of Hornibrook Esplanade and Oxley Avenue, looking over Bramble Bay on the Redcliffe Peninsula. Few small clubs anywhere in the country can point to a comparable combination of location, program range and national recognition.
