"Your Club Since 1957" runs the tagline, and Keppel Bay Sailing Club wears that longevity prominently. Standing on Anzac Parade on the Yeppoon foreshore, it is a not-for-profit organisation that Australian Sailing describes as one of the country's leading off-the-beach dinghy sailing venues and the central hub for sailing in Central Queensland. The description is hard to argue with: in 2023 the club took out the national Club of the Year award in Category A after first being named Queensland Club of the Year. Its operations extend well beyond the beach. By its own figures the club is the second-largest employer in the Yeppoon region, running multiple venues with more than 100 local staff, and its five venues — The Clubhouse at Yeppoon, The Spinnaker, Kracker's Bar & Grill, the Sail Inn Cafe & Bar, plus Club Emu Park — make it as much a hospitality organisation as a sailing one.
